The sun is out the sky is blue…..

jason

As I drove to the Resonance studio yesterday the roads were strangely empty giving an eerie silence but of course I was on my way to have an hour filled with music with Jason McNiff. How was I to know that Jason’s playing would match the stillness outside with three songs that were so beautiful and pure that I had to hold back the tears! This is not the norm for me but there was something in Jason’s playing and fragility in his voice that really got to me. An obvious comparison is Bob Dylan but I also heard Rodriguez in him too ,that same naturalness and humility and an almost zen like serenity that stops you in your tracks. I could really picture Jason performing at a huge venue like The Royal Albert Hall easily holding the audience captive. I can see why Lewis Floyd Henry is such a fan as like Lewis there is nothing fake about Jason and I guess that is why Mojo described him as the UK’s best kept secret as I cant imagine him spending hours trying to raise his online presence and worrying about how many likes he has on Facebook. Selling himself is not his style ,you get the feeling he does his thing and quietly gets on with it but for those that are lucky enough to see him live they will know that sometimes a secret is worth breaking as for Jason to not have more recognition would be a real waste of a true talent….even if he may make your mascara run!
